Dawn Louriano, Director/Instructor

Dawn Louriano is the director and an instructor at A Heart of Gold Dance Company. Dawn was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She started dancing at the tender age of two with “All That Dance Company” in Inglewood, California. Through this company she was trained in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, African and Hip Hop dancing for years. This is where Dawn fell in love with dance and it has stuck with her every since! Dawn also has a strong background in cheerleading.  She started to cheer in junior high school as an extracurricular activity. In high school she joined the Varsity Cheer/Dance team. In the four years she was apart of that program Dawn became the captain of her team, competed in the National Dance Team Championship twice, and competed and won the Northern Dance Team Championship. Through her love for cheer, Dawn’s alma mater, Junipero Serra High School, hired her to be the director of the cheer/dance program and a substitute teacher for nearly eight years. As the director and choreographer, she led her Varsity team to compete and win the 2011 JAMZ National Dance Team Championship in Las Vegas, NV. Dawn attended California State University Northridge (CSUN) and was selected to be apart of the phenomenal CSUN Hip Hop Dance Team. It was here where she had the privilege of dancing with some amazing dancers. Through this experience, she did many performances with her team, appearing in many well-known dance shows. Dawn moved on and graduated from Cal State University Dominquez Hills with a Bachelors of Arts in Kinesiology with a concentration on Fitness Directing. Dawn has received numerous opportunities as a choreographer throughout her career. She has worked with a number of dance programs, and then transitioned into choreographing for adult professionals. Dawn was signed to Bloc Talent Agency, located in Los Angeles, CA as a professional dancer. She worked with awesome choreographers and appeared in music videos, as well as live performances as a professional background dancer. After getting married and giving birth to a beautiful baby girl, Dawn relocated to Texas in 2016. It was at this point that Dawn was able to revive her beautiful journey with dance, by continuing to teach, educate, create, inspire and support aspiring dancer’s dreams to come true. She has experience teaching ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop to students ranging from 2 to 18 years of age as well as adult dance/fitness classes. She is having an amazing career as a professional dancer, choreographer, instructor and is very thankful to God to be blessed with her talent.

Andrea Moorehead, Instructor

Meet Ms. Andrea! She is a Detroit native that recently moved to Dallas from Augusta, GA and has been dancing since the early age of 9. Ms. Andrea’s experience includes teaching Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Technique to all ages from 18 months-Adult. Her experience also includes working with competition teams and choreographing award winning dances. Her energy filled style of teaching keeps her dancers engaged and motivated. She believes that dance is the best form of expression and everyone should have the opportunity to express themselves.

Sandra Hill,

Instructor

Sandra  received her  degree from Sacramento State University in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Dance and Choreography. While attending the University, she received  high honors for her choreography. She has  performed and trained with dance companies  such as: American River College,  Sacramento State, Jones Ludin-Limon, Alvin Ailey (scholarship award),  Celebration Arts,( under the direction of James Wheatly) and Merced Academy of Dance.

 She has been grateful for the opportunity to perform and work behind the scenes at American River College (ARC), and Fair Oaks Theatre Company. She has worked in both venues as a Choreographer and performer in over 30 productions. She has taught as an Adjunct Physical Education and Dance Instructor at ARC for years. While teaching Dance and Theatre at Loretto College Preparatory High School, she served as VAPA Department Chair for 1 year, as well as taught Theatre and Dance there for 7 years.

More recently, Sandra was honored to be the director and choreographer of the talented actors in GodSpell. Additionally she worked at Steps Dance studio where her students maintained Platinum Honors throughout the year, competing in Contemporary and Musical Theater.

Sandra’s experience as a teacher has developed a passion for instilling in others the desire to be lifelong learners.Working as a coach and teacher in Physical Education, she thrives on energizing and motivating clients through the class. As a teacher of the Arts, she is committed to fostering a positive environment for learners and maximizing student performance and interests in Performing Arts. Sandra has a strong history of Theatre Arts involvement, offering Dance and Theatre to the community. She has been involved behind the scenes as well as a dancer, choreographer, director and actor! Sandra wants everyone to know that she has a love for the Arts that is meant to be shared.

Dawn Hall,

Instructor

Introducing Dawn Hall (Ms. Hall), a recent resident of Frisco Texas, native of Chicago, Illinois.  Dawn has been dancing since the age of 4 and competing since she was 6 years old and continued until her freshman year in college.  

 Dawn has been blessed as a dancer to have been taught by dance instructors from: Alvin Ailey, Joffrey Ballet, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Indiana School of Ballet and Madd Rhythms Tap Group.  Dawn’s genres of dance are classical ballet, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, tap, African, and Pointe. Because of Dawn’s passion for dance from an early age she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from Columbia College in Chicago where she received instruction from well versed professors in dance. 

For the past 6 years while teaching in the Chicago Public School District as a Substitute Teacher and Special Education Teacher’s Assistant, Dawn also was a dance instructor/choreographer where she was teaching students various styles of dance and technique from beginner to advanced levels. Dawn will continue teaching in Texas as well as being a dance instructor at A Heart of Gold Dance.  

Some of Dawn’s interests besides dance are shopping, reading and traveling. Spending time with family and friends is equally important to her. Dawn is taking time to adapt to her move to Texas because in her words, “It is definitely HOT here. “

Dawn’s goal is to show young ladies and gentlemen that dance is an awesome way to express themselves!

Marcy Stephens, Business Manager

A Heart of Gold Dance was named after Marcy Stephens, whose spirit is kind, compassionate and empathetic. She wears her heart on her sleeve and would give the world to everybody if she could. Marcy knows the importance of touching each person’s heart with a gold worthy experience. With that said, this dance company was created and through Marcy’s leadership, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service that will leave our dance families not only feeling happy but appreciated. Marcy works extremely hard to put that special “A Heart of Gold” touch on everything she does.

George Louriano, Technical Director

George is responsible for composing and mixing music when needed, troubleshooting, or arranging any audio needs while in studio, as well as controlling our sound/lighting board at all of our shows. George has an extensive background in the entertainment field.  His experience includes writing for music artist such as T-Pain, Brittany Spears, The Game, Jibbs, Ron Fair, Wylde Bunch, Xzibit, Daz, Trina, Bosko, Yo-Yo, SPG, Polo Da Don, E-40 and Problem. His work has also received Television Placements with  well-known networks like VH1, MTV and Oxygen. We are thrilled to have him on our team!

Stacey Borres,

Studio Assistant

Ms.Stacey is the Studio Assistant at A Heart of Gold Dance. She also works as a lead preschool teacher and has been teaching children for about 6 years. Stacey has one daughter who was one of the founding students here at A Heart Of Gold Dance and she loves it so much. Stacey was born and raised in New York. #GO YANKEES! She loves all things arts and crafts, is super patient and easy to talk to…over all she is just a big kid at heart! She is looking forward to meeting each of you.
